Temus partnered with the Singapore Department of Statistics (DOS) to design and deliver the SingStat Mobile App, enabling fast, secure and intuitive access to official statistics through a personalised, mobile-first experience.
As Singapore’s national statistical authority, the Singapore Department of Statistics (DOS) is responsible for producing and disseminating trusted, high-quality official statistics that inform public understanding, research, and policymaking.
However, the way users consumed statistical information was changing. Data was increasingly expected to be:
DOS envisioned a modern digital platform that would allow users to discover, explore and understand official statistics anytime, anywhere, without compromising on accuracy, transparency, or security.
The challenge was to translate a vast and complex body of national data into a mobile experience that could serve diverse audiences (from members of the public and students to researchers and policymakers) while remaining robust, secure, and future-ready.
We partnered with DOS to design and deliver the SingStat Mobile App, applying a human-centred and agile approach that balanced usability with the stringent requirements of a public-sector system.
To create a digital channel that makes official statistics easier to access, understand and reuse at scale, this meant delivering an experience that works for a broad audience (public, students, researchers, analysts, policymakers) without compromising trust and data integrity.

We designed a keyword-driven search experience with quick previews of key figures and trends, allowing users to assess relevance before diving deeper into datasets and tables.
We focused on reducing friction from “I need a statistic” to “I found something I can interpret and use”.
Key experience features:
Interactive, zoomable charts and configurable visualisations were optimised for mobile performance, supporting deeper analysis without compromising responsiveness.
Personalised profiles, bookmarks, subscriptions, and cross-device synchronisation allowed different user groups to tailor their experience while sharing a common platform.
Access to methodologies, glossaries, publications, and historical series was embedded directly within the app, ensuring users could interpret statistics with confidence.
An agile delivery model, supported by robust testing and maintenance processes, enabled regular enhancements while maintaining system stability and security.

The Singapore Department of Statistics’ (DOS) SingStat Mobile App, enables data-driven decisions with convenient access to Singapore’s official statistics spanning across various economic and social-demographic domains.
The app was developed in collaboration with Decision Science Agency (now under Temus). Through tailored data recommendations and preview of data trends, users can quickly access key indicators and discover more than 300 commonly referenced indicators presented as customisable charts and tables. The app also allows users to search and access many other indicators in DOS’s e-Service covering some 2,400 datasets from 70 public sector agencies, and presents these indicators in charts for ease of reference. With push notifications, the app ensures users stay informed of the latest updates, while social media sharing feature fosters a more data-informed community. In addition, the device synchronisation feature provides users with seamless access to data across multiple devices.
By making Singapore’s official statistics easily accessible, the SingStat Mobile App has empowered citizens, researchers, and policymakers to make more informed decisions based on reliable and up-to-date data.
